Kirbyville Elementary
May 2014
Informational Memo for Parents
Title 1
Title 11

As school year 2013-14 comes to a close, we thank our parents and friends for the support that you have given us. Parents, it has been a pleasure working with your children this year. Kirbyville Elementary faculty and staff look forward to seeing you all again in August.
Kirbyville Elementary is a Title 1 school wide project. Basically, this means that more than 50% of our students are eligible for free or reduced price lunches. Title 1 is a federal program that gives additional monies to schools that qualify this way. Title 1 monies are used to partially fund the elementary program. All students on the elementary campus are benefitted by these monies. Needs of LEP, migrant, special education, gifted/talented, regular education—all students in all programs are served. It helps us to enhance instruction for all student needs with emphasis on differentiating instruction for students needing additional support or intervention.
As with all educational funds, these monies may be decreased this year, but we are working to make sure that this will not impact our quality of service to our students.
As always, Kirbyville Elementary remains committed to academic excellence for all students.
